What is the difference between psychology and anthropology?

Answer by Peter Leykam:

Psychology studies individual minds, and anthropology studies collective behavior. As a cultural anthropologist, I look at what people do, what they say, and what they say about what they do and say. I then relate this to the larger social contexts within which they exist. I don't really focus on what people think – that is the activity going on in their minds.

A good distinction would be that psychologists look inward for the explanation of behavior, examining the the mental causes for individual behavior. Anthropologists, on the other hand, look outwards to social and cultural contexts to explain behavior.
