What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

Answer by Deepak Mehta:

  1. You spend too much time with your friends. Spend some more.

    Because:

  2. You worry too much. Don't.
  3. You sleep too much and read too little. Do the opposite.

  4. You make a lot of mistakes. But don't worry –  they are the most valuable life lessons.
  5. You underestimate yourself. Don't.
  6. You plan too much ahead into the future. Don't. Better utilize that time working on your strengths and weaknesses.
Plans more than 2-3 years down the line rarely materialize.
  7. Click more photographs. But don't let that come into the way of you enjoying your holidays.
  8. Do the things you love, not the things you have to.
  9. Be a little more pro-active during school and college days.
  10. Try new things. Everyday, if possible.
Do not give up even without trying.
